Make Money Writing Online

Inspired

Crashing waves, dramatic scenes.

Synchronicities are my dreams.

Everything that gels and flows with ease,

Is what I search for when I smell the breeze?

Twilight sparkles and thoughts that flow,

Words not spoken but somehow known.

Searching for passion, needing a cause,

Something that will inspire making energy flow.

Breaks in rhythm building suspense,

out from the ordinary awakes my sense.

Needing fulfillment, seeking the way,

trying not to struggle and ruin the wave.

Writing is never fun when its forced. I think as a blogger, you have to write when you want and what you want. I know some will say that “I have to get out 1 article and 1 blog post a day”. Yes that is the fast track to promoting your web site, and it works…..and it gives you a job.  I dont know about you but I could have went to school and the got me a decent paying job if that is what I wanted. But its not. I want to make money and have fun. Actually I want to have fun making money. Its a slight differance but a differance non the less.

Back to inspired writing. Its hard to be inspired when each of your posts or articles requires keyword research and checking on the latest bids on those keywords. If this was the case you would have to write about credit cards and debt….like I did when I started this blog. I didnt like writing about it but I figured “what the heck” people need advice and it pays….but not enough that I would endure writing only about that topic!

Here is the thing. Everyone is chasing the profitable keywords and writing to attract traffic to them. Why dont you go the other way and write what you want for your own and others enjoyment and get traffic because you are unique? You may write something out of the blue that could be exactly what someone needed in that moment. They found you and you now probably have a reader for life.

If you write only for the paying topics…there will be no variety on the net. Thats sad. You wont enjoy writing it and your real talent will stay hidden.

Sleep or Death

Not a thought given to the sweet hours lost,

Cold chills come, and skin feels like frost.

A taste of darkness, a thought then none,

From this I’ll awaken, and see the sun.

Each and every day, a small piece is gone,

In another worlds dimension, my thoughts run on.

Should I die before I wake?

I’ve many times died in these hours you take.

Is this what its like, this breath of death?

That lulls you in with promise of rest?

I’ll never give up, or ever get tired.

If in my last hours I’m pulled to the pyre.

A little rest now? There’s eternity later.

Rest is for the weak, don’t do me no favors.

Goose pimples my warning, you’re closing in,

Well life’s to be lived and your sloth a sin.

                ———————————

You think by familiarity and constant exposure,

I’ll get used to your wiles and except your foreclosure?

Your sadly mistaken, I’ll stand till knocked down.

Old age my gift and gray hair my crown.

“Upon completion of anything, you are finished.
Enjoy the process, for that’s all there ever really is”

Social Bookmarking Blog Traffic

During one of my prowls around some forums I came accross the topic of social bookmarking to increase blog traffic. After seeing how cool Technorati tags for blog traffic could be, I kind of got the techno bug.

Any how I came across Tyler Banfield and he answered my first question about feedburner and then I stumbled on another of his posts about adding digg and delicious social bookmarks to increase traffic to blogger and not just WP. Very helpfull stuff from this guy! Anyway, after all is said and done it is simply a matter of going over to push.cx and getting this social bookmarking plugin for WP . It is a super easy install if you can even call it that. Its more of an easy upload and a plugin activation actually.

Thankyou for making it easy for the rest of us!

With that said and done, I cant really tell you how effective any of these strategies are for increasing blog traffic. The reason is a common one, lack of testing. I just got a bunch of new info and put it all into place at once. So the fact of the matter is that I have no idea what has made this take off so well, other than the fact that everything combined is working great!

What I will do is give everything a little time to soak up the seasoning and then check my stats to see whats happening and from where. I’ll post up here with the results when I have a shmick.

Technorati Tags For Blog Traffic

Being new to blog marketing and learning how to get blog traffic has its advantages! During your search you end up finding lots of cool stuff and having the eyes of  beginner allows you to help and answer questions for others that want to know. Sometimes when you get really good at things, you forget what someone new needs to know. In this example, I had no idea how to use Technorati tags and if I did, I wouldnt know that that help increase traffic.

On to the article.

This is a very simple but great tip on how to increase
traffic to your blog and it actually came from
Derek Gehls blog which I heard about by reading James Brausch’s blog. (See, now your getting how this blog thing can catch on!) Derek writes great stuff and you
can take a look at his blog here:

http://blog.marketingtips.com/derek/

This post is from the original article here:

http://blog.marketingtips.com/derek/2006/06/how_a_game_of_tag_can_direct_s.html

That I saw over at James Brausch’s site here:

http://www.jamesbrausch.com/?p=121

This tip to increase blog traffic is very simple.  You
simply let the major blog search engine know about
the most recent topic of the post you just put up.  That
search engine is called Technorati. It has a unique way of
allowing you to tell it the topic of each post you just made
. This simple method is called Technorati tagging and you
can see it on alot of blogs. There is the old school, hard
way to do this but I am going to show you the new school
easy way.

Go to this site:

http://www.keotag.com/

Now if you look up in the right hand corner, you will see a link for the
tag generator.  You want to click on that.

Enter your keywords that tell the topic of your post and
click the checkbox on the left for Technorati you could also
do digg at this point but thats for another article.
Magically some HTML code will appear.

You are going to want to copy that HTML code and insert it
at the bottom of your blog entry in HTML view mode before
you post. This works the easiest with a WP blog but will
work with blogger as well.

That is all you have to do.  Technorati will instantly
list you at the top of the results for those keywords that
are related to your topic until post comes along that is on
that topic.

This is a super easy and effective way to get new targeted
traffic to your blog, enjoy!

So here is the funny part. After going through all that and understanding how to use the Technorati Tags to increase blog traffic, I went and put up the post without any tags! Genius! Fixed it now and you can see how the tags below reflect the content of this blog entry. Now if someone was looking for these topics over at Technorati, then I would come up and get some traffic!

Where The Wolf Runs

Where the wold runs I follow. We run fast and free.

We dance in the desert. I’m dancing with me.

A chorus of howling, rising up to the sky.

A circle of colors, where the wold and me fly.

A bite from the wolf, and the ground becomes torn.

I’m sent to the dark, I start to perform.

I dance for the darks. I dance from the heart.

On my soul journey, this is the start.

Bad Credit From Credit Cards

Those little pieces of plastic can sometimes get you into
trouble. Sometimes nothing is easier than to take out your
credit card and pay for that sweater or piece of furniture you
have been eyeing for months. And who hasn’t been asked by the
check-out person to sign up for a credit card in order to save
15 percent on their purchase. Credit card offers are
everywhere; they come in the mail on almost a weekly basis. Read the rest of this entry

What Are Pagans and Paganism

There are almost as many denominations to Paganism as there are to Christianity.
Within Paganism, there are a large variety of beliefs, dieties, and concepts.
However, we (much like Christianity) have certain core values and beliefs that
are central to paganism. Some of our core beliefs include:

Respect For Nature
A Belief in Harming None (including both yourself and others!)
Belief in Deity or Deities (differs depending on denomination)
Mutual Respect for All Life
A Belief in “Magick”

While some pagans believe in only one Goddess, and one God, others may believe
in ONLY a Goddess, or ONLY a God, or MANY different Gods and Goddesses. Also,
some pagan paths are more centered on working “Magick” (the ability to make
things happen using willpower and nature) than others. Generally speaking,
pagans of all denominations are kind, caring individuals that believe that it is
wrong to harm any living creature (including plants!). We believe in the law of
three…which tells us that whatever actions we do to others, will be brought
back upon us threefold. So if we do something bad to someone else, it will come
back to us three times as bad. Read the rest of this entry
