The Holiday months can send any blogger scrambling to scrape a few extra dollars out of their blogs. Doing impulse buys and gift shopping sends even the most level headed book keeper into the red.

With most revenue making opportunities on the web, you can’t just make money over night. It takes years of building a system and then about the same time promoting it. There are short cuts but a sustained income source takes a while to build. Here is where Kontera text ads come into the picture though.

Like I was saying above, just like everyone else, I wanted to squeeze a few extra bucks out of my blog so I started searching. It’s been a while since I looked into anything new. For years it’s just been clickbank products, affiliate stuff and of course, bread and butter google adsense that I use. Then I started reading about Kontera in other people’s blogs like John Chow’s And Joel Comm’s at http://www.joelcomm.com/.

It looked promising so I signed up. The next day I was accepted and about 5 minutes after I copied the Kontera code, I had an extra source of passive income. Instead of spending a lot of time and maybe some money building a new source of income, I used one that already existed and was available that I simply wasn’t taking advantage of.

So how much money with you make off your blog with Kontera ads? From my own experience after four days, it looks like you will make about 25% of what you would from adsense. So if you are making 20 dollars a day from adsense you will make an extra 5 dollars a day from Kontera Text Ads.

Maybe not extreme get rich kind of money but it’s the difference between making 600 dollars a month and making 750 dollars a month. ON ONE SITE. How many of us have more than one site? Ya, that’s what I thought.

So in the end, if you have a couple of sights that are basically making most of their income off adsense and not direct sales, adding Kontera ads into the mix could easily make a car payment for you by the end of the month. Why not? Its five minutes to cut and paste!

Its so bizarre but maybe there is a hidden message in there somewhere. The power of intention maybe? Back to the google adsense revenue. With this last day happening, I am almost frozen. The problem is, I have not done anything different than usual. What that means is if I do not know what caused the spike in adsense revenue, I cannot duplicate it or increase it on demand. That’s a terrible business model. If you don’t understand why then you should be reading the James Brausch blog. He is all over systems and I learned a lot from him. I’m sad to say that I actually was not ready at the time for everything that man new. So I backed off. Unfortunate.

So if your making $20 a day from the adsense program your probably looking for some adsense tips. Well guess what? I used to spend a lot of time looking around the net for adsense tips too and this is what I have chosen to use on my sites.

• Lighter url color than main ad

This is something I learned in the google adsense video series.

• The wider the ad the better

There is more text to read and so I believe the reader can see the information they want is only a click away.

• Large rectangular block
• Ad inserted into the content and not on top.
• If it doesn’t affect the reading experience, place your high paying keyword into the title tag.
• Keep trying to boost traffic. This is the biggest thing. Yes conversion is important but without traffic you get nothing. Nothing to measure, fix, adjust or make money from.
• Give people what they want and they will come back to read more, and click.

Another thing you want to keep in mind is that if you can find a high converting product that tightly matches the theme of your website, it will pay better than adsense. If you get 400 clicks at fifteen cents each you have made $60 in google adsense revenue. However if you have found something that converts at 2 percent and sells for 35 dollars then you can make 280 dollars a day.

Finding the product and losing the google adsense revenue while testing is the hard part!

I dont know how long most of those site have been on the web but the site that I make my money on has been online for about 5 years now. All I have done is write about what I love which is fitness. Most people that would read this article have done thier cost per click research and know that fitness is not the killer cost per click that some other topics pay out at but that doesnt matter. I couldnt write the content that I wrote over a 5 year period on something that I didnt care about.

Making money with your website starts of as something to do, not survival. If it was survival, you would starve to death before you made any money. To make money with adsense or any of the google adsense alternatives you have to have traffic and traffic takes a while to build. If you have nothing of interest to read about on your site, you simply will never build any traffic. This is why your site should be about something you love. Something that you need to put down and get out of your system. That way even if the money doesnt come, you are still fullfilled. If you invest time writing for an google adsense topic that pays out well but you despise, then you are going to fizzle out before the money pours in.

Now in my travels I also ran across weblogs. These guys are making $600 a day through google adsense?! WOW. Now that is what I call passive income. They have been using adsense as a revenue source since 2004. That was a kick in the pants for me seeing as I’ve been using it longer and am not making half that. Of course I dont get a million page views either, so there in lies the secret. Worthy content, leading to lots of traffic and tons of clicks on your ads.

I need more traffic and then I can write a post about making $200 a day in google adsense and everyone will link to me! GOAL: Increase traffic by 50% to play with the big adsense dogs!

Start by writing some quality content articles which are
also keyword optimized. There are a lot of people given the
gift of being good with words, writing comes easy for them.
Why not make it work in such a way that you will be earning
some extra cash in the process.

There are actually three steps to keep in mind before you
begin writing your ads and having an effective Adsense.

Keyword search. Find some popular subjects, keywords or
phrase. Select the ones which you think has more people
clicking through. This is actually a keyword selector and
suggestion tool that some sites are offering to those who
are just their Adsense business.

Writing articles. Start writing original content with
keywords from the topics that you have achieved in your
search. Take note that search engines are taking pride in
the quality of their articles and what you will be writing
should keep up with their demands.

Quality content site. Build a quality content site
incorporated with Adsense ads that is targeting the subject
and keywords of your articles and websites. This is where
all that you’ve done initially will go to and this is also
where they will prove their worth to you.

The proper positioning of your ads should be done with
care. Try to position your ads where surfers are most
likely to click on them. According to research, the one
place that surfers look first when they visit a certain
site is the top left. The reason behind this is not known.
Maybe it is because some of the most useful search engine
results are at the top of all other rankings. So visitors
tend to look in that same place when browsing through other
sites.

Some of those who are just starting at this business may
think they are doing pretty well already and thinking that
their clickthrough rates and CPM figures are quite healthy.
However, there are more techniques and styles to generate
more clicks to double your earnings. By knowing these
techniques and working them to your advantage, you will
realize that you will be getting three times more than
other people who have been previously doing what they are
doing.

Finally, Adsense has some excellent tracking statistics
that allow webmasters and publishers to track their results
across a number of sites on a site by site, page by page,
or any other basis you wanted. You should be aware of this
capability and make the most of it because it is one
powerful tool that will help you find out which ads are
performing best. This way, you can fine tune your Adsense
ads and focus more on the ones being visited the most
rather than those that are being ignored.

Another thing you should know. Banners and skyscrapers are

interest that’s why people ignore them.

To really start making money with Adsense, you should have

This change grants me about 200 visitors a day and between 3-5 sales of a $30 book. When you know how to make a dollar, you can make $100 so all we need is more traffic. (or another product but thats another story).

In order to get more traffic I touched on another tool in my kit called artemis pro. At first I went to town with this and then make the classic mistake of getting sidetracked and forgetting the traffic + copywriting formula and forgot about it. Well it is now time to get more traffic through article submission so that I can fatten my paycheck.

Mind you most people would ask why dont I just buy my traffic through adwords and point it to my smoking copywriting? Because if you are converting at 2% and each click costs you 30 cents to get noticed there isnt much room for error. This is where affiliates get the shaft and onsite promotion is the only way for an affiliate to make any money. Not the old adwords/clickbank combo that everyone raves about.

So how do you make money while not always having to work to
sustain that income? You work on the Internet and have your
extra source of income come from online. Is it a get rich fast

put the google adesense ads on there and they run silently in

more money than others, but finding what makes the most money

like a mild form of torture. I write about whatever life
experience I am learning about at the time. Right now it’s

I learned about clickbank through wanting to write and ebook

liked and trusted to make money for the both of us. Whenever I
by a product that I like or has helped me make some money

Commission Junction is still a bit of a rouge for me. I have
made some money on the Internet but just can’t get it to perform
at its full potential. This is probably because I am a content
writer and not a sales copy person.  Just when I think I got it
nailed, it turns out to be a fluke. I know the money is there
waiting to be picked but haven’t quite found the optimum way to
make money online with them yet. One thing I can tell you is
that you can’t just put an affiliate link up and hope for the
best. There has to be some real work in the background. Mostly
in the form or gaining a high traffic flow through content and
then shuttling that traffic to the pre-sell page.

Making $3000 a day and the power of duplication

Does the thought of making $3000 a day blow your mind? It used to blow my mind too. Now it’s just a number that needs to be attained to reach a higher goal. Anything less than $3000 a day means a longer period of time before you make one million dollars.

$1500 a day, then its going to take 2 years.  $750 a day? That’s 4 years. But the important fact is that the more you stretch your mind with an outrageous goal, the more sane a lesser degree of stretch seems.

So how do you do it? How do you make $3000 a day? There are three ways.
1. Sell one $3000 product
2. Sell 3000 $1 products
3. Do a combination of the two.

1. Sell one $3000 product. How do you find and sell something that will give you $3000 profit every day? Well in order to profit large, you must usually invest large. So in order to make a profit margin that large you either need to have a substantial amount of money to invest right off the top or you must locate a product that someone else sells and earn an affiliate commission by selling that product to other people.

While this is possible, it seems a daunting process to me to be able to replicate this each and every day on a regular basis. But it is possible, I just don’t know how yet.

2. Sell 3000 $1 products, the power of duplication. (Or 6000 clicks at .50 cents:-). Now this one is a little easier. There are a lot of things that we can sell that will make us $1. We just need to find 3000 buyers on a regular basis. While of course we can find a $1 product and then hope for the best, but this leaves a lot to chance. We could look for a product that has 3000 searches a day at wordtracker, something like exercise equipment and then build a web page to sell the products of another company as an affiliate. That’s what I did since my day job was a personal trainer and I knew the topic. The only problem is that there are 89,900,000 other people that had the same idea. So it is not a daily guarantee. It is however money in the bank towards a goal.
3. Do a combination of the two. The real power of duplication. This was my best approach. It left me secure and allowed me to make a million dollars in an easy and relaxed manner. I didn’t have all my eggs in one basket, and so I never stressed the process. I knew that weight loss programs are big business and I spent most of my day as a personal trainer, so I created the best program I could to help others lose weight fast and put it into an ebook. Now I had the mid range product. I knew there were at least 32,757 searches a day for weight loss, so I know I had the people.

Now lets say for some reason I don’t get the whole 32,000 people knocking on my door. Sad I know, but lets be realistic. Seo can be long and slow and quality articles take time to write. I needed some help. I needed the power of duplication. Enter clickbank.

I may not have been able to reach 32,000 people organically, but an army of clickbank affiliates sure could! With many clickbank affiliates selling for me, the power of duplication was in full force. I had effectively cloned the marketing machine of my website. Add in the adsense on the supporting article pages of the weight loss site and the combination of the two and you have enough money to invest in some real estate. But that’s for another story.

Is this fiction? Yup. Then why did I write it in the present tense right? Well, because the funny thing about the mind is that it tends to believe what it is told. I know this from years of personal training. People will only start to lose weight when they believe it is possible, when they stop thinking of themselves as fat. You and I will only make one million dollars when we KNOW it is possible, when we stop thinking $18/ hour. The best way to make a plan to attain a goal is to reverse engineer it. Start as if you have already attained the goal and then work your way backwards through the series of steps that got you to where you wanted to be.

Back in the million-dollar plan part one; we went over the traditional business model of how to make the best of a situation where your business product is your or your employee’s time. Working with the fact that money comes in on an hourly rate (if you are lucky enough to have sufficient clients) you are limited in income by the hours in a day or the number of staff working for you at that hourly rate. With our business of personal fitness training, we figured we could make about $46,080 a year through the personal training (insert your business here) and a few extra bucks with odd jobs like teaching cardio classes, about $2880. So about $48,960 a year…hmmmm. That’s not really that close to a million dollars, but its better than nothing.

Since we are running a business and obviously don’t want to take another job, what can we do to make more money? Google adsense. I wont explain google adsense here because you can find that information anywhere, just google it. Ha,ha.

Google adsense is the essence of residual income. But in order for it to do any good for us, we would need at least $2000 a month from adsense. Lets look at this realistically. Google adsense shows you how much you make and how many clicks you got in your reports section of your account. So lets say we did the math of money divided by clicks and found that we were getting .15 cents a click. If you want $2000 from google adsense you need 13,333 clicks a month. We all know that any exposure of an ad usually receives an approximate click through rate of 10-20%. We are using standard figures for advertising here as to not violate any of google adsense rules. Taking the optimistic route, common sense says we need people to visit and look at 66,665 pages a month to make $2000 from google adsense. That is a lot of traffic when you are first getting started. But no one said this was a get rich quick scheme. Just read on the Internet about traffic building strategies, do the common sense stuff and WRITE USEFULL ARTICLES. People will take care of the rest for you.

Remember this; people tell other people about cool things. The best thing is they will tell them gladly and you will be proud of your work and proud of promoting it yourself.

Now another way to skin a cat is to spend most of your time writing about the most profitable topic that is a passion of yours. I say passion because writing involves passion and if you are trying to write about something you don’t care about, then you just created what we call WORK. I’d rather have fun personally.  Some industries or topics cost advertisers more to bid on in google. This is bad for them but good for you because you will earn more dollars per click. If you are getting .50 cents a click instead of .15 then you just cut the amount of traffic you need to generate by a third to make the same money. Better yet, maybe you get the same traffic but earn 3 times as much.

Also think about general SEO for getting your traffic, because traffic is where the clicks from google adsense will come from. You can throw out some obscure title on your articles or something that is related to the article and people are actually looking for. If people are looking for you, they have a better chance of finding you and clicking on your google adsense.

Now a word to the wise, (that must be you cause it isn’t me!) I am not a guru of marketing. If I was, I would be writing an article on how to make $10,000 a month using google adsense. So use your noggin. I am still learning and there are an endless amount of ways to promote your website. Of course as I learn them, I will share them but what I am saying is I by no means have all the answers to making the moola.

So back to our million dollar plan and how the $2000 per month from google adsense fits in. We were at $48,960 a year from traditional business and now we can ad in the $2000 a month from google adsense and we have a grand total of $72,960 a year. This is getting to look a little bit like an uphill battle here! We are still working towards the first $100,000 of our million dollars!

At this point one of our options is of course to make more than $2000 a month from google adsense. This we could do. We could also make more from the traditional business model also, but where else can we put money into our pockets from the page views we are already receiving?

I know the power of residual income and I’ve been chasing it for about two years now. Well three, but the first year I had absoulutly no idea what worked or even what a meta tag was. Year two someone told me about this google adsense thing and I signed up.

I made the connection between more traffic meaning more clicks so I started looking in SEO (search engine optimization). That tied me up in a useless mess for about a year but then I started to see the light. General SEO is good, spending all day tweaking instead of writing content is a waste of time. I was also hand coding all my pages, now I blog.

Blogging has taken out the chore of hand typing my meta tags and looking at percentages of keywords. That brings up another point. I got caught in the keyword mamba… I started spending time at digital point using the keyword research tool and started to try and write around some of the oddest keyword combinations in hopes that I would sneak some traffic and increase my adsense revenue. Know what happend, I started to hate writing.This is where steve’s blog comes in. Let me keyword that, so if I can help in any way it will, like so. I was reading steve’s blog on personal development and success (see? thats helpfull linking. Its a resource and it helps the blog owner with keywords in the link). I found his sight by doing some keyword research on “Adsense” at digital point and found him under “adsense revenue”. (I know, old habits are hard to break, but look what I found).

Long story short, I realized that I just have to start writing again about usefull and original stuff from my own perspective. If its good, people will come, read it and tell thier friends. Thats what its all about I guess! The coolest thing about steve’s site is it looks like I could spend hours there. I mean everything that I’m into! Making money, personal development, spirituality (I still cant see aura’s or tell me my dreams mean) and helping people while being rewarded for it.

 The adsense revenue is a bonus for sharing (adsense video tips). Yes of course you can throw up a couple of mini sites and have them tweaked out for niche markets and keywords so that you get the high click and CTR, but let me tell you; You will hate every minute of writing about something that you dont give a darn about and you might as well go to a 9-5 job if thats the case because the income is more secure!

I put a bunch of ezine article money articles on this site as a means of getting some quick content up, but from now on…its all me and who ever wants to share.
